OUR HISTORY, FOUNDERS AND VALUES
Mary
Mary’s deep appreciation of God’s creation lead her into an interest in agriculture. Mary graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science in 1977. She worked in purchasing for ship management firms for several decades before changing careers in 2006 and becoming a Licensed Vocational Nurse.
Bill
Bill attended the University of Houston and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics in 1972. Bill worked in the oil service business for 38 years before retiring to enjoy a slower paced life with Mary.
Our History
Around this time, the “Texas Olive Movement” was beginning and the couple saw this as an opportunity for a new life venture and for Mary to return to her love of agriculture.
After doing extensive research about growing olives in Texas, they planted the 1st phase of olive trees in 2013 followed by the 2nd phase in 2014.
During this process it became apparent that there was a great need to improve the quality of the soil for the sustainability of the orchard. The decision to transition to a fully organic olive orchard was made. The Goerners and their family maintain more than 4400 olive trees on 23 acres. Their mission is to deliver delicious, organic extra virgin olive oil from their orchard to kitchens across the country.
